EATING
Eat well and often and take time to make a cup of tea or coffee each morning, and one in the afternoon if you like. Keep a bag of food in your pack that is not perishable: coffee, tea, candy, soup, caramels, snacks, bananas, miso shiru, tins of fish, instant noodles, etc. You will sometimes have nothing else to eat, and be able to improvise a nice meal in the woods with a can of tuna, miso shiru, instant noodles, and chocolate for dessert. Fruit is good, but beware of pears and apples and even grapes which can be hard on the stomach in the summer.
