BATHING
As for bathing, do it everyday, no matter your exhaustion, or cold, or laziness. The next morning you will start fresh and happy, as opposed to dirty, smelly and in low spirits.
Here's how. Find a nojuku with water, or, preferably, a handicapped toilet with lock. In the summer you don't have to worry about the cold water, in fact it can be a godsend. IF you have a handicap toilet, just go in, lock it, bring your soap, towel and a cup, disrobe completely, then douse yourself in water until you are soaked, then suds yourself up joyously, then rinse and repeat as wanted. You will feel so good afterwards. It is like you wash away the exhaustion, wear and tear, and grime of the day, and feel human again. Dry, and put on a fresh set of clothes, and then retire to your sleeping area to make dinner.
If you are not able to disrobe completely, you have to do the 'homeless bath'. Put on your bathing suit only, and then proceed to wash as necessary, reaching down for the bits when others are out of sight.
If it is too cold, or water is limited, then do your best with a wet towel. Scrub every inch as well as you can, rinse, and then dry with a fresh towel. It helps to have a partner!
Voila, outside bathing is easy and fun.
